Leighton Meester fires her mom

Leighton Meester has fired her mother as her manager and cut her off financially. Constance Meester — who gave birth to the Gossip Girl star while serving time in Fort Worth prison, Texas, for her role in a drug smuggling ring — was recently accused of making threats to kill against California woman Laurel Wigg.

Worried that Constance is falling back into her old habits, Leighton is cutting ties with her mom.

“Leighton has always disapproved of her mother’s criminal past, and now that she’s gotten into more trouble, she made the painful decision to cut ties with Connie,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“Hopefully, Connie will get whatever help she needs and she and Leighton can sort out their relationship.”
