Elisabeth Moss wants to live in England
Elisabeth Moss has always wanted to live in England. The Mad Men actress is currently starring in a production of The Children’s Hour with Keira Knightley on London’s West End and admits she is finally achieving an ambition she has held since seeing a stage production of Twelfth Night many years ago.
“I wanted to do something that would mean I got to live here and not be a visitor, you know?” she said. “Do my laundry here, know all the restaurants, visit grocery stores and… Wait, what do you call grocery stores?”
The 28-year-old beauty is a life-long member of the Church of Scientology — the sci-fi religious faith followed by stars including Tom Cruise and John Travolta – and though she understands why people are interested in her beliefs, she thinks they are given more attention than they would if she had different ideals.
“I understand the curiosity. I don’t fault anyone for it. Ultimately my religion is a personal thing for me,” Elisabeth Moss said.
“It’s not for me to say what is due and undue. People have questions and people are curious. I think the press has made a big deal out of it, which makes people more curious.
“I do feel there’s definitely more attention on it than if I were Jewish or something, but it’s a new religion, there’s questions asked. There’s things people want to know, and I understand it.”
