Heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson discusses his new TV Show!
Mike Tyson will show off his prized pigeons in an upcoming TV show. The former heavyweight boxing champion, convicted rapist and occasional actor is the star of Taking Tyson – a six-part documentary in which Tyson returns to his Brooklyn neighborhood to race pigeons.
“This is what we do. Our lives are dedicated to pigeons, even when I have been fighting or getting locked up,” Tyson said of his passion for birds.
“This is not no hobby. This is something we are going to do until the day we die. There are things about my life. I had a pretty colorful past…We go to some places in the past which are a pretty dark place for me.”
The series will air on the Animal Planet cable TV channel in March.
Tyson recently claimed he is living paycheck to paycheck.
“I’m totally destitute and broke,” he said. “But I have an awesome life, I have an awesome wife who cares about me. I’m totally broke. I had a lot of fun. It (going broke) just happened. I don’t deserve to have the wife that I have; I don’t deserve the kids that I have, but I do, and I’m very grateful.”
Tyson was previously married to actress Robin Givens in 1988 and Monica Turner in 1997.
