Arun Nayar may get millions in Elizabeth Hurley divorce
Arun Nayar could end up a very rich man following his divorce from Elizabeth Hurley. Sources say Elizabeth — who recently announced her split from the Indian tycoon — is much wealthier than her estranged husband, and will likely have to pay out a huge chunk of her $26million fortune.
According to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, the couple did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement before their lavish wedding ceremonies in India and Britain in 2007.
“A pre-nup would have been a deal-breaker for Arun. He has his pride,” a source said.
Hurley’s personal assets include a $7 million farmhouse in Gloucestershire, South-West England, as well as a $5 million townhouse in London’s exclusive Chelsea district, which she still co-owns with her ex-boyfriend Hugh Grant.
Despite Arun coming from a wealthy Indian family, it is believed he has no assets in the UK.
The couple’s split comes after pictures emerged of Elizabeth kissing former Australian cricket star Shane Warne, whom she allegedly enjoyed two nights with in a London hotel.
Hurley — who has an eight-year-old son Damian from a previous relationship — started dating Nayar in late 2002 and the pair married in March 2007 at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire, before having a second ceremony, a traditional Hindu service, at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, in India.
Hurley is best known for her movie roles in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Bedazzled.
