Taylor Lautner thinks paparazzi attention is abnormal
Taylor Lautner says the worse thing about being famous is the lack of privacy. The 18-year-old Twilight hunk admits he hates being stalked by the paparazzi.
“There’s tons of good things and bad things,” he said of fame. “Obviously, the lack of privacy is bad. It’s not normal to go out and have dozens of cars with photographers waiting outside while you get your coffee. But like I said, there’s many good things too and I’m willing to put up with the inconveniences.
“I might not go shopping or to the movies, but I have my favorite places, like certain restaurants that are not very famous. There are times when I don’t care and I go bowling. It might get a little complicated at times, but I still have fun, even if I go back home thinking I shouldn’t have gone out and I don’t go out for awhile.”
Lautner says his family help him keep his feet on the ground.
“The answer is in the family members and friends that I’ve known for a while,” he said. “This is our job, we live in the business world, but then we go back to normal. We can be famous, but in the end, our lives are as normal as anyone else’s. We stay at home and we don’t live the exciting lives people think. Keeping a balance in our lives is important, and I can’t lose that.”
Taylor recently admitted he used to be scared of Twilight fans.
“In Brazil hundreds of fans stormed the hotel Kristen Stewart and I were in. We hid in this little room for 45 minutes waiting for the SWAT team to arrive. We said to each other, ‘What if they get into this room? They’ll tear us to shreds!’” he said.
“I wouldn’t say they’re weird but they’re definitely passionate.
“I was just in Australia at a fan event with a red carpet and there were 4000 fans and I was walking down the line. The fans like to hold out their hands or their arms for you to sign and one arm had a massive tattoo of the wolf pack.”
“The real one, the same exact thing and it was pretty cool. She was like, ‘Can you sign it?’
