OHMYGOSSIP — Marvel Avengers are getting their own TV channel. Disney has announced that the iconic superheroes are to appear 24-hours-a-day throughout the month of April on Disney XD+1, which is available on Sky and Virgin Media.
Among the highlights of the month-long special feature will be the world premiere of exclusive Marvel Studios‘ ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ content, as well as four new Marvel Funko animated shorts.
There will also be the channel premiere of Marvel’s Video Comics shorts and Marvel Super Hero Adventures shorts. And throughout the month of April, every single episode ever made of Marvel’s ‘Avengers Assemble’ will be shown on the channel.
The Avengers are set to feature prominently in the news over the coming months, with the long-awaited ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ slated for release in April. The much-anticipated movie boasts a star-studded cast that features the likes of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Pratt, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson, among many others.
The film is one of the most anticipated of 2018 and forms the first half of the two-part ‘Infinity War’ story. Anthony Russo – who is co-directing alongside his brother Joe – recently claimed that ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ will mark something unprecedented in the history of the franchise.
He explained: “There are a lot of characters in this movie that have tones that they’re bringing from their own franchises. I think it’s a very unique film, I don’t think there are a lot of movies that have the kind of tone that this movie has, because it’s a combination of franchises and I don’t think we’ve ever seen that before on this scale.”
