Prince Charles and Camilla indulge in PDA
OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, indulged in a rare public kiss in Singapore.
The royal couple marked their reunion with a sneaky smooch after they both headed to their 11-day visit of Southeast Asia, which begins with the sovereign city-state, separately.
Charles flew over to Singapore on an RAF Voyager flight, and the Duchess of Cornwall made her own way over after enjoying a private retreat.
Charles and Camilla don’t tend to share a smooch in public and their latest public display of affection is thought to be only the third time they have done so with the other two occasions taking place more than 12 years ago.
They were spotted embracing at a polo match in 2005 ahead of their marriage, and four years previously they kissed in public at a Somerset House reception.
Following their public display of affection, Charles and Camilla received an official welcome at Singapore’s Presidential Palace to mark the first full day of their visit.
One of their first engagements was to meet Singaporean athletes and para-athletes, and Charles was presented with the Commonwealth Baton, which he will also see next April when he represents his mother, Queen Elizabeth, at the Commonwealth Games on Australia’s Gold Coast.
Clarence Chew, 21, a member of Singapore’s national table tennis team, handed Charles the baton and revealed the 68-year-old royal asked him about the sport.
He said: “The Prince was asking about our sport and he said table tennis was a fast sport and an exciting sport.”
Swimming para-athlete Yip Pin Xiu, 25, added: “It’s great the baton has the queen’s message inside and it’s travelling all around the Commonwealth countries.”
Charles and Camilla’s Autumn Tour – which will also take them to Malaysia, Brunei and India – is at the request of the British Government and celebrates the UK’s partnership with Commonwealth Nations.
