Dakota Fanning nervous about driving

Dakota Fanning says she’s “really nervous” about learning how to drive. The actress, 16, admits she’s more frightened at getting behind the wheel of a car than she is in front of the camera.

“I have my permit to drive but I am only just starting out driving,” she said. “I’m really nervous about it.

“I can drive along the flats now but not busy roads or the freeway. I have a long way to go before I’m brave enough for that.”

Fanning recently revealed that she had her sights set on becoming a tennis player before becoming an actress.

“My mom went to college on a full scholarship for tennis, my dad played minor-league baseball and my grandfather was a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles,” she said.

“So before I started acting the plan for me was to be a tennis player – that was the plan for me and my mum had me in tennis classes.

“One day I went to her and told her I really love the outfits but it’s just too hot – it’s just too hot for me to play tennis and I didn’t want to play anymore.”
