OHMYGOSSIP — Linda Barker has reportedly auditioned for a slot on ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The skating show will make a return to screens next year after it was axed in 2014 following a flop in ratings and, although bosses are still trying to finalise their celebrity line up, the interior designer is determined to do all she can to nab a spot.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Linda has been training really hard in her gym and has been telling friends she’s really enjoyed the discipline of it all. She’s been ice skating constantly and throwing herself into it.
“Linda auditioned in Blackpool recently and show bosses seemed impressed. But ITV have a quite large group of celebrities so there’s no guarantee she will make the final cut. There’s still a lot of training to go as it stands.”
Linda shot to fame on BBC’s ‘Changing Rooms’ with host Carol Smilie and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen but she quit after six years for better offers.
The 55-year-old presenter has appeared on a number of reality TV shows over the years, including ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Outta Here!’ and ‘Splash’.
Meanwhile, bosses are determined to keep details of the revamped show under wraps for the time being but Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are set to be the hosts.
The presenting duo – who have become known for their work on ITV daytime show ‘This Morning’ – fronted the ice skating competition when it first aired 11 years ago,.
The news comes after it was recently reported that professional skater Sylvain Longchambon is due to return to the show – after having previously appeared in 2011 and 2013 – to help the celebrity hopefuls stay upright in the rink while twisting and turning to music in front of a panel of tough-talking judges.
