OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ bosses have restricted the amount of alcohol to stop drunken romps.
The current series of the dating show has been the raunchiest yet – with four couples having sex on screen on Sunday (16.07.17) – but producers are concerned that the episodes are becoming too rude for viewers, so have decided to limit the amount of booze contestants are allowed to drink in the hope of reducing the frisky behaviour.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “They want it to be about the romance, not the sexual relationships. Some couples can’t stop having sex and are going at it almost every night. Producers are being ultra-careful not to let sex become the focus of the show so have refrained from airing saucy scenes.”
Bosses have been having “consent chats” with the stars to ensure they didn’t engaged in sexual activity while heavily under the influence of alcohol, but they have now enforced a booze ban meaning contestants are only allowed two drinks a night.
Camilla Thurlow, 27, and model Jamie Jewitt, 27, set tongues wagging last weekend when they were spotted getting very intimate with each other in the villa.
Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay have reportedly romped as many as 12 times during their time on the show, but only three of their steamy sessions have made it to air.
Similarly, Jess Shears and Dom Lever are said to have had sex eight times before they left the show, and yet only one of their love-making sessions was broadcast.
Host Caroline Flack said: “We have always only shown the sexy bits if they have been relevant. It has been more heartfelt this year so we have needed to follow their emotional journey.”
