OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke of Cambridge was splashed with water by a runner during the London Marathon on Sunday (23.04.17).
The 34-year-old royal pitched up along the course to support all of those who took part in the annual sporting event, which saw competitors run 26.2 miles, but was reportedly squirted in the face by a competitor as him and his wife Duchess Catherine, 35, distributed bottles out to those who took part, TMZ has reported.
Although Catherine – who has three-year-old son Prince George and 23-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte with her spouse – had a little splatter of water in her direction her partner is believed to have taken the brunt of it.
However, the incident didn’t put the couple off as they continued to show their support to the runners and they were even on hand to congratulate them afterwards.
An image of Prince William and Catherine at the finish line yesterday, which was shared on the Kensington Palace Twitter account, read: “Congratulations to everyone coming through the finish line and keep going everyone still on the route… #Teamheadstogether #LondonMarathon (sic).”
And a video of William’s younger brother Prince Harry, 22, dancing with a tiny tot – who has been described as the “youngest” supporter of their Heads Together team – has been shared on the Heads Together social media page as well as Kensington Palace’s site.
The post read: “Prince Harry is at mile 22 cheering with one of our youngest #TeamHeadsTogether supporters! #LondonMarathon (sic).”
Whilst the race was taking place William and Catherine also took the time to meet with London Marathon volunteers.
A picture of the pair talking with assistants, read: “Meanwhile The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge meet @LondonMarathon staff & volunteers at the finish line. #LondonMarathon (sic).”
