Josh Brolin’s beastly role
Josh Brolin admits ‘Jonah Hex’ has a similar story to Disney classic ‘Beauty and the Beast’. The actor – who played the titular role in the action western – claims the love storyline between his character and Megan Fox’s Lilah tells the tale of a beauty falling for an unusual man.
He said: “It’s a ‘Beauty and the Beast’ thing, physically, cosmetically. But then, I think the parallel and the kinetic connection is because they’re equally broken. Then there’s also – I mean, I hate saying this, but I will – an older-younger type of thing. I don’t think that’s really true, but it might be.”
He also confesses he hated wearing the make-up in the role because if how long it took to apply.
He said: “The prosthetics were a pain in the a*s… We did three hours of make-up a day. It was very tough, there were many different layers.
“I had a mouthpiece that held my mouth all the way back and that was attached to the back of my neck and then we did three more layers on top of that, and then I walked around with half a moustache and half a beard in New Orleans for three months. So there was nothing attractive.”
