Chris Evans confirms his contract is up on Captain America

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Evans has revealed his contract to play Captain America is up once filming on ‘Avengers 4’ has wrapped.
The 35-year-old actor has a deal with Marvel Studios to play Steve Rogers and his heroic alter ego in two more movies, which will be the two ‘Avengers’ sequels, but he is free to walk away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe if he wishes or if the company no longer wants him.
In an appearance on ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’ on Monday (03.04.17) Evans was asked if the two upcoming ‘Avengers’ films would be his last outings as Captain America, to which he replied: “It is. My contract is up. I have ‘Avengers’ three and four, we do ‘Avengers 3’ now and four is the latter part of the year, then after that, that is the end of my contract …They’ve been filming since February, I don’t start until May, there are so many people involved.”
Evans first suited up and wielded The Cap’s famous red, white and blue starred shield in 2011’s ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and he has followed that up with appearances in ‘The Avengers’ and ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
The Hollywood hunk previously admitted he wanted to take on less acting jobs in the future so he could focus on directing but he will be starring in new Lionsgate movie ‘Jekyll’.
He will play Tom Jackman a modern descendent of Dr. Jekyll who begins to develop a split personality and steadily transforms into a version of Mr. Hyde in the film, which is based on the 2007 BBC TV series by Steven Moffat which starred James Nesbitt as the character.
Evans will be working with Ellen, 59, on the project and he can’t wait get stuck into the horror character, originally created by writer Robert Louis Stevenson in his 19th century novella ‘Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’.
Speaking about the project, Evans said: “So, Ellen and I are doing a movie together. I didn’t know you were producer on that … What a great script.”
