OHMYGOSSIP — John Krasinski is to direct his wife Emily Blunt in a new supernatural thriller.
The ‘Office’ star – who tied the knot with ‘The Girl on the Train’ actress in 2010 – is to helm ‘A Quiet Place’ which will be set on a farm and focus on a family that is being terrorised by an evil entity.
As well as directing for Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes, John – who has steeped behind the camera for two previous projects, ‘The Hollars’ and ‘Brief Interviews With Hideous Men’ – will also star opposite Emily and has also completed a new draft of the script from Scott Beck and Bryan Woods’ original.
The couple – who have two daughters, Hazel, three, and nine-month-old Violet, together – have starred in the same film together before when they both featured in 2011 family flick ‘The Muppets’ but they shared no scenes with each other. They also both voiced characters in the animated movies ‘The Wind Rises’ and ‘Animal Crackers’, the latter of which will hit cinemas in September.
John has made no secret of the fact he would like to direct his British spouse in a movie.
He previously said: “I would love to direct Emily. I don’t know, I would rather act with Emily than direct. I don’t know if I need that responsibility. She’s so good and I’d be so scared to screw it up. But happy to be in scenes with her because that would be really fun. We’re always up for doing something, it just gotta be the right thing.”
‘A Quiet Place’ will be produced by Michael Bay along with his partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes.
Shooting is set to begin this autumn.
