OHMYGOSSIP — Channing Tatum wanted wife Jenna Dewan Tatum to cut her hair short for a “really long time”.
The 36-year-old American actress has credited her 36-year-old partner for encouraging her to chop her brunette tresses, and he was “excited” when she took the plunge to hack off her locks because he had told her to change her hairstyle for a while.
Speaking to PEOPLE about her new do, and the ‘Magic Mike’ actor’s input, she said: “He wanted me to go short for a really long time. He’s the opposite of most men — most men like long hair, but he thought it would be a really good idea to go short. So he was excited. He was like, ‘You finally did it!'”
And the ‘Step Up’ star – who met the American hunk whilst filming the 2006 film – always requests for her hair to be cut in a way it doesn’t need much maintenance, as she will not style her hair unless she has an important event to attend.
Jenna – who has three-year-old daughter Everly – explained: “I still to this day haven’t actually done my hair, unless I have some sort of event or meeting. I tell everyone who cuts my hair, ‘You need to cut it in a way that I can shower and go because I will not do myself, I don’t have time.’ So it just works. It’s a lot easier to manage and it’s much more free for me.”
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty – who is the ambassador of athleisure wear brand Danskin – regularly wears leggings “all the time” and will style them in a variety of ways.
She said: “I wear leggings out all the time.
“I wear then with boots or heels and usually style them with a chunky duster sweater and T-Shirt. I think that’s completely an outfit.”
