Regina Spektor will perform at the White House on Thursday as part of a celebration for Jewish Heritage Month.
The 30-year-old admitted that playing for the Obama family is an “unimaginable honour” and that she is happy to be counted amongst the Jewish population, reports Spinner.
“Nothing in the world could make us feel more accepted or at home,” she said.
“Having moved to America from Soviet Russia as a child with my family, we dreamed of reconnecting with our religious traditions and of making America our home.”
This is the first time that the White House has hosted such an event, which is also expected to include author Judy Blume and Olympic athlete Dara Torres.
