Prince Harry joins rap masterclass

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry listened in on a rap masterclass in Nottingham.
The 32-year-old royal politely declined to demonstrate his rapping skills as he joined pupils taking part in the Full Effect programme’s music and kickboxing lessons at the Nottingham Academy on Wednesday (01.02.17).
When asked if he’d like to show off his skills, he quipped back: “I’m wearing a jacket for a reason.”
Of the royal’s visit, 11-year-old Prince Newton, said: “It was a great feeling to be able to rap for the prince. I don’t think many people get to fist-bump him so that was amazing. I think he thought my bars were sick – we are Gs [gangsters] for life now.”
Whilst fellow pupil Linden-Wayne Rose added: “It was really good to have Harry here and to perform for him. It’s been really excellent.”
And Seren Russell, who is a youth worker for Full Effect, knows the visit from the flame-haired royal will have “inspired” the children.
He shared: “All the hard work you do all year round, the relationships you forge, it’s brilliant to show it off and celebrate it. Harry was getting into it! The talents that these kids have, everyone gets into it. He’s showing a genuine interest which helps elevate them and inspire them.”
During his visit to Nottingham, Prince Harry also helped celebrate with those who had graduated from the Coach Core project with a ceremony at Nottingham Council House.
Speaking at the event, which honoured 16 to 24-year-olds who have completed their training to become professional sports coaches, he said: “I am pleased to hear the positive impact you guys have had on this experience – 34,000 children have been lucky to be coached by you, to be coached by the very best. You are unique. Nottingham is unique and together we can achieve remarkable things.”
And the Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Mohammed Saghir, was thrilled to see the Prince back in Nottingham.
He told the Nottingham Post: “[It is] a dream come true. There is something about Nottingham and we are really proud of him. He must have some special links to the city. He has definitely put Nottingham on the map. He appreciates what we do in the city and for our people.”
