Bryce Dallas Howard: SAG nomination is very special

OHMYGOSSIP — Bryce Dallas Howard feels “very special” to have received a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award nomination.
The 35-year-old actress has been nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Miniseries or Television Movie for her performance in Netflix’s ‘Black Mirror’, and she has credited her success to her previous work on ‘Jurassic World’, which marked her comeback to the movie scene after having her second child.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, Bryce said: “It is very special.
“‘Jurassic World’ was the first film I did after having my second child. It’s exciting for me to get to be a working actor and to get to work on a few different projects that are coming out in a given year.”
Bryce – who has nine-year-old Theodore and four-year-old Beatrice with her husband Seth Gabel – won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for her work on ‘The Help’ in 2012, but was unable to attend as she had given birth to Beatrice just 10 days before the ceremony.
Now, the star is hoping to get together with her friends and former co-stars Octavia Spencer, Emma Stone, and Viola Davis, who are also nominated for awards.
She said: “I sent a picture to the ladies as it was happening of me pumping at home.
“I was like, ‘Oh, I wish I could be there with you guys.’
“So, the fact that everyone is going to be there is going to be so fun! I get a second chance at it.”
Bryce also opened up about her role in the ‘Nosedive’ instalment of ‘Black Mirror’, claiming it speaks to audiences because it captures the “anxiety” people feel about technology.
She said: “In terms of our relationship to technology and how it affects our lives on a day-to-day basis.
“‘Black Mirror’ in a way — especially ‘Nosedive’ — is a social satire.
“[‘Black Mirror’ creators] Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones really have captured the anxiety we’re all feeling.”
