Louisa Johnson hated her X Factor winners song choice
OHMYGOSSIP — Louisa Johnson wasn’t happy with Simon Cowell’s song choice for her ‘X Factor’ winners single. The 18-year-old singer – who won the ITV talent show in 2015 with mentor Rita Ora – has admitted her version of Bob Dylan’s ‘Forever Young’, which was released on the 57-year-old music mogul’s Syco label, wasn’t for her and was she surprised it sold 39,000 copies and peaked at number nine in the charts.
She said: “I didn’t really gel with it that much, everyone knows it wasn’t the best song. I didn’t really like it, but it was just one of those things. It got to a higher spot than I thought it was going to get.”
The chart position resulted in Louisa being the first ‘X Factor’ winner in 12 years not to have their winner’s single at number one, unlike previous winner Ben Haenow who went straight to number one with ‘Something I Need’ in 2014.
The blonde beauty is gearing up to release her debut solo album, which she insists will be a completely different taste of music to what the viewers saw of her on the show.
She told The Sun newspaper: “There’s definitely a few raunchier songs on the album, but there is stuff for everyone, which I think is really important. None of it is fake, it’s all very much real. It’s all how I feel, how I act and what I do, but I didn’t get to show that side on the X Factor because it’s a competition and I wanted to get through each week.”
Louisa is to return to ‘The X Factor’ on Sunday (30.10.16) to perform her new single ‘So Good’ for the first time.
