Sheridan Smith making TV comeback

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheridan Smith is making her TV comeback.
The acclaimed actress – who recently finished her run in the West End show ‘Funny Girl’ will narrate the new series of ‘Crackanory’ on Dave.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “She was brilliant on set, really lovely to work with and read brilliantly. She’s a brilliant actress and the programme were delighted to have her.”
The television series for adults has been inspired by children’s show ‘Jackanory’ and features a mixture of animation, live action and music.
It has been a tough year for Sheridan, 35, whose beloved father Colin was diagnosed with cancer in March.
And she took eight weeks off from ‘Funny Girl’ because of “exhaustion and stress”.
Producers of the production, which was staged at the Savoy Theatre, said in a statement: “Sheridan Smith will be taking a leave of absence from ‘Funny Girl’ due to stress and exhaustion.
“The entire team at ‘Funny Girl’ is thinking of Sheridan, and know she is getting the rest and support she needs during this difficult and stressful time.
“We will all miss her enormously and send her our love and best wishes – and we are looking forward to her return to the show in due course.”
However, she returned last month to finish the show’s run.
