Jess Glynne working with Beyoncé songwriter
OHMYGOSSIP — Jess Glynne is working with Beyoncé producer Toby Gad on her new album.
The ‘Hold My Hand’ hitmaker’s long-time collaborator, Janee Bennett, has revealed work has already started on the pop beauty’s second studio album and she has songwriter Gad, who co-wrote the R&B superstar’s massive hit ‘If I Were a Boy’, on board.
Jess has also recruited EDM star Skrillex – most noted for collaborating with Justin Bieber and Diplo on ‘Where Are Ü Now’ – and PARTYNEXTDOOR, who wrote Rihanna and Drake’s smash hit ‘Work’.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Janee said: “We’ve started [Jess’] new album now. We’ve been working with some amazing producers and writers, including Toby Gad – who’s done loads with Beyoncé – Skrillex and PARTYNEXTDOOR. I’ve been doing quite a few things with Jess for the second album.”
Janee – who has also worked with Olly Murs and Little Mix – says Jess’ follow-up to 2015’s ‘I Cry When I Laugh’ will continue to focus on the 26-year-old singer’s real life experiences, which makes her easy to work with.
She explained: “When we first started out writing with Jess, it wasn’t the intention to have a particular sound,” Janee explained.
“It’s literally about her life and what she’s going through. She always remains true to that and what she wants to say, so it makes it a bit easier as a writer.
“When somebody has such a clear vision, it makes it much more enjoyable collaborating with them.”
The ‘Real Love’ star has made no secret of her admiration for Beyoncé and admitted she isn’t “psychotic” but if she had the chance to be invisible, she would use her new-found super-power to spend a day with her idol.
She previously said: “If I was invisible for a day, I’d probably follow Beyoncé around as she’s my hero.
“I wouldn’t break into her house or anything – I’m not psychotic.”
