Hollyoaks' Jade Albright to die from cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Hollyoaks’ Jade Albright will die from cancer.
Kassius Nelson has revealed her alter ego – who has battling with uncommon Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma – will tragically pass away from the disease after she contracts an infection and, due to her weakened immune system, her body fails to fight it.
Speaking in a new video launching the show’s #MyJadeIs campaign, the 19-year-old actress explained: “Most young people do survive Jade’s type of cancer but unfortunately for Jade, her treatment isn’t working. The doctors have offered her more chemotherapy, which weakens her immune system, and she gets an infection that she can’t beat. Now what I’m really sad to tell you today is that Jade unfortunately dies.”
Jade’s impending death will come as a huge blow to her boyfriend Alfie Nightingale, who has also battled with cancer, as they’ve relied on each other to help them fight the disease.
Richard Linnell – who plays Alfie – explained: “When it happens on screen, it is going to be really sad. And then Alfie is going to struggle quite a lot afterwards without Jade but he has his friends and family around him who will support him.”
Meanwhile, the Channel 4 soap is on a mission to raise as much awareness of cancer and the effects it has on the patients and their families as possible, so recently invited two young people from Teenage Cancer Trust to visit the cast of ‘Hollyoaks’ in Liverpool to enjoy some pizza on set.
The special visit came after Domino’s – the nation’s favourite pizza company – announced it had raised over £1 million for the Teenage Cancer Trust in just over a year into their partnership.
Siobhan Dunn, Chief Executive of Teenage Cancer Trust, said: “This is an outstanding achievement – to reach such a monumental milestone almost a year early is a real testament to the ongoing passion and commitment of Domino’s team members, franchisees and customers. Currently, for every young person we can help, there’s another we can’t. We have a big task ahead of us over the next five years to ensure no young person, or their family, faces cancer alone. However, with the unwavering support of Domino’s Pizza Group we know we will be one step closer to achieving our goal.”
Domino’s are thrilled with their achievement but aren’t ready to slow down just yet as they have just kicked off their next round of fundraising by launching a celebratory ‘Price Slice’ deal.
The deal will run from October 10 until October 16 and will give pizza lovers the chance to buy one, get one free on all medium and large pizzas – with £1 of the proceeds going to the charity.
The food chain is also hosting Big Night In parties at all 28 Teenage Cancer Trust units across the country.
Each unit will receive a personalised Big Night In gift box containing a host of DVDs, snacks and hot, fresh, pizza.
