Jeff Hordley will never quit Emmerdale

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeff Hordley has confirmed he has no plans to quit ‘Emmerdale’.
The 46-year-old actor – who has played Cain Dingle in the longstanding soap after he joined the programme 16 years ago in 2000 – has admitted he doesn’t intend on leaving the Yorkshire Dales, despite his three-year break from the show in 2006.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (30.09.16) about his future on the hit soap, he said: “I left [in 2006] to pursue more theatre and do other jobs because I’d only done five years at drama school and then I got ‘Emmerdale’, so I wanted to go out and do a bit more things in the industry [‘Mother Goose’, ‘Animal Farm’ and ‘The Caretaker’].
“But now I’m so settled with my children and my wife there that it just seems silly to up sticks again and leave because I work with such a great team, I’ve got such a great, fantastic part that the writers keep writing some superb stuff for.”
Meanwhile, the dark-haired hunk – who has eight-year-old son Stan and 11-year-old daughter Violet with his wife and co-star Zoe Henry, who plays Rhona Goskirk – has admitted the writers never put the couple together on the same story-lines.
Speaking about his co-star and spouse, he said: “We joined the same episode together and have been through the same journey in terms of the characters growing up together and us getting used to getting recognised together. Before we joined the show no one knew who we were apart from my stupid dad dancing from some years ago, so we’re really close.”
Although some plots have to remain a secret, Jeff has admitted they don’t have to keep their scripts under tight security from their children because they don’t share an interest in ‘Emmerdale’ and don’t watch the soap at home.
He explained: “The kids don’t really watch it. My daughter actually said to me a couple of days ago ”Coronation Street’, ‘EastEnders’, ‘Emmerdale’ – it’s not really my genre’. She’s nearly 12 so I was like ‘Okay that’s fine’.”
