Green Day postpone tour dates
OHMYGOSSIP — Green Day have postponed three of their US tour dates.
The ‘American Idiot’ hitmakers have been forced to cancel their gigs in St. Louis, Chicago and Detroit on September 20, 21 and 24 respectively for the time being after they were recently struck down with a mystery illness.
The band – consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool – announced the news on their website.
They’ve also decided to pull the plug on their show at the World Cup of Hockey Fan Village in Toronto on September 23 completely and are not planning to reschedule the date.
They said: “Green Day regretfully must postpone three of the first four dates of their upcoming tour and must cancel the Toronto appearance, all due to illness affecting several members of the band and its crew. We’re so sad to announce we have to postpone three shows and cancel Toronto. Many of us have been battling this infection for days on end to be ready, and it just got the best of us.”
The ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ musicians insisted that all shows except Toronto will be rescheduled when their schedule permits, and that all original tickets will still be valid. They also said that fans seeking a refund for tickets can do so at their point of purchase.
The band – who are touring in promotion of their upcoming album ‘Radio Revolution’ – hope to be back on the road in time for their show in Columbus, Ohio, on September 26.
