$487.000.000 Powerball jackpot finally claimed, but the winners stay anonymous
OHMYGOSSIP – It’s been almost two months since one ticket holder from New Hampshire snatched a life-changing $487.000.000 Powerball windfall and they’ve finally come forward to take it home. The prize was collected via trust on Monday, since the winning family decided that they want to keep their identity a secret after becoming millionaires. Follow in their footsteps and scoop a fortune playing Powerball – a $222.000.000 cash reward is up for grabs!
The winning Powerball combination that brought them the $487.000.000 fortune on July 30th consisted of the numbers 11, 17, 21, 23 and 32 with the Power Ball 5. The New Hampshire family chose to receive the prize as the lump sum payment, netting $256.000.000. They also decided to stay anonymous after the big victory and created the Robin Egg 2016 Nominee Trust to claim the prize on their behalf.
“In order for them to do good things, they need anonymity, but there couldn’t be two better people or a better family to win this money than these people, because they are going to do great things with it,” said family’s representative William Shaheen of Shaheen & Gordon P.A.
The trust already donated $100.000 to several local charities, including End68 Hours of Hunger which received $40.000 and Raymond Coalition for Youth which got a $30.000 cheque. This is only a start according to Mr. Shaheen, who described the family’s noble act as “the first step in a long journey of giving.”
“At this point in time, they are committed to using these funds for philanthropic causes and to make a positive impact on the lives of their family. They feel truly blessed to win this prize – but also realize a serious obligation and responsibility to give back with winning this amount of money,” explained Shaheen.
