OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Head has joined ‘Emmerdale’.
The ‘Inbetweeners’ actress – who played Carli D’Amato in the popular sitcom – will star as “feisty” Rebecca White, the sister of Chrissie White, who is played by Louise Marwood, and the daughter of Lawrence White (John Bowe).
She said: “I am really looking forward to joining the ‘Emmerdale’ cast, and so excited to be the one to put a face to the name Rebecca White.
“I can’t wait to see how the village reacts to her arrival.”
Series producer Iain MacLeod teased fans to expect the new arrival to be “funny” and “flirtatious”, and praised Emily – whose father is actor Anthony Head – as “perfect” for the role.
He said: “The character of Rebecca is a brilliant addition to the village. She’s funny, feisty and flirtatious, she might turn your fella’s head but, importantly, she has a good heart.
“Emily couldn’t be more perfect for this role and we’re delighted to have her aboard – the chemistry between her and our regulars is already electric.”
The 27-year-old star is best known for her role as Carli, which she reprised in ‘The Inbetweeners Movie’ in 2011.
She has also starred in ‘Doc Martin’ in 2007 and appeared in another TV soap, ‘Doctors’ in 2010.
Lawrence is set to try to reunite Rebecca and Chrissie, but fans will have to wait to see exactly why she has turned up in the village.
But Chrissie is expected to be far from pleased about her sibling’s arrival, which will be seen on our screens in October.
