OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria wants to “control her destiny”.
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ star is desperate to do more directing and producing so she can see her “stories reflected” on people’s screens.
She told USA TODAY’s Hispanic Living magazine: “My goal has always been to direct and produce. I want to see my stories reflected on the big and small screens. I want more control over my destiny in this industry.
“Economic mobility is one way to empower Latinas. Latinas are the CEOs of the household finances and health decisions. I want to give women the tools to make sure they become engines for good.”
Meanwhile, the 41-year-old actress previously revealed she’d love to be the “female George Clooney”.
She said: “I want to be the female George Clooney. He directs, produces and stars. I want to be in charge of the final product.
“Everyone goes, ‘Oh, she’s an actor-turned-director,’ and I’m like, ‘No, I was always a director and a producer who happened to become an actor.'”
And Eva admits she sees acting as a “means to an end”.
She added: “I’ve always been business-minded. I worked in corporate America before becoming an actress and knew that acting wasn’t the end but a means to an end.
“It gave me the platform and the exposure I needed to do my philanthropic work. It also gave me the financial security to focus on my other businesses, start new businesses, and even help other people start businesses.”
