Paul O’Grady looking forward to new show
Paul O’Grady has revealed that he no longer has bad feelings towards ITV. The chatshow host left the channel in 2006 & described its executives as petty tyrants, adding that he would rather sweep the streets than work for them.
However, O’Grady, who has now signed a new deal with ITV, explained that he does not hold a grudge. “I know I said a lot of things when I left, but I think ITV are OK with me now,” he told The People. “I say a lot of things and it’s forgotten the next day. That’s showbiz – it is all bulls**t!”
O’Grady added that he is excited about working on his new show but explained that the details are still unclear. “I have no idea what format it will take yet because we have not sat down with the producers,” he said. “The show will still have dogs & children but I want it to be a bit more adult too. I’ve had an awful year – I was ill, my dog Buster died & my sister has been in hospital. But I’m looking forward to my new show in September. It is nice to be off work but I have a strong work ethic so I hate sitting around doing nothing.”
