OHMYGOSSIP — Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice are getting their own BBC travel show.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professionals are teaming up for ‘Giovanni And Anton: Adventures In Sicily’, which will see Giovanni introduce Anton to his homeland.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “Telly travelogues seem to be all the rage right now, but producers know they only work if their hosts have the right dynamic.
“With Giovanni they have the smooth sex appeal and in Anton they have his self-deprecating humour.
“Together they’re a no-brainer for execs.
“And of course they couldn’t be outdone by fellow Strictly stars Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli, whose jaunt round the UK proved a hit on ITV last year.”
The show will be filmed this summer and will air in the autumn after ‘Strictly’ returns to screens.
Both stars are on a professional high at the moment; as Giovanni is the reigning ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ champion after winning the glitterball trophy with his celebrity partner Rose Ayling-Ellis last year.
And Anton, 55 – who was ‘Strictly’s longest serving professional dancer – has wowed audiences after swapping the dance floor for a place on the judging panel.
He previously said: “I never won [the glitterball trophy] and it is a regret. The one I’m now hoping for is the National Television Award, for best judge. That’s the one I really want. If I won that I’d be the happiest bunny in town.”
