Lionel Richie fills house with his own homeware range
OHMYGOSSIP — Lionel Richie has replaced all the homeware in his house with products from his own ‘Lionel Richie Home’ range. The ‘All Night Long’ singer launched his own signature line of goods last month and has now turned his Los Angeles property into a “showroom” for the collection, which includes dinnerware, crystal barware, vases and frames.
Lionel said of the range: “Not only do I love entertaining, but my house is now a showroom … I’m playing the Grande Dame with this. I’m going in a direction you didn’t expect me to go in.”
Following the launch of Lionel Richie Home – which is currently available at Lionelrichiehome.com and potentially through Gracious Home from the spring – the ‘Hello’ hitmaker is also launching a selection of fragrant candles in April inspired by his songs ‘Endless Love’, ‘Forever’ and ‘Truly’ and has also designed items for younger people called LR Loft, which will be launched in May.
The 66-year-old songwriter accepts designing a homeware range is an unusual career move for him and has revealed he got the idea from critiquing the décor in the different hotels he has stayed at all over the world.
He told WWD.com: “(I would think) why didn’t they do this like this?
“I’m in love with the luxury side of life, spas and hotels.”
Products from the Lionel Richie Home range are priced between $15 and $1,300.
