Cristiano Ronaldo launches footwear line

OHMYGOSSIP — Cristiano Ronaldo has launched his own “smart footwear collection”, named CR7 Footwear, and described having his own line as a “dream come true”.

The Portuguese soccer star has unveiled the range, entitled CR7 Footwear, and described the chance to release the smart shoe collection as a “dream come true”.

The sportsman has teamed up with Portugal Footwear to create the line of modern yet classic styles.

He said: “Launching my own smart footwear collection is a dream come true. I’m very proud that our CR7 Footwear collection uses only the finest locally sourced materials with designs hand-crafted in Portugal by a team of truly talented craftsmen.

“It was amazing to see the level of detail and dedication that goes into each and every pair made and to be part of the entire process, from our first ideas to now releasing the final product. My feet are my working tool, therefore I only wear the best. I want to share that opportunity with others – I want them to shine in my shoes!”

The collection is divided into luxury, premium and basic collections for both men and boys and includes coloured desert boots, loafers and hand-sewn moccasins.

Ronaldo, 30, who previously launched CR7 underwear and shirt lines, loves swapping his football boots for smart styles when he is off the pitch and wanted to create a collection of formal footwear to share his passion for shoes.

He explained: “I really enjoyed launching my CR7 Underwear and Shirts ranges, and we’ve had a really great response, so for me extending the brand into formal footwear was very natural.

“I spend a lot of time in football boots for work and having great footwear is very important to me, both on and off the pitch, so I wanted to create something that is smart, is amazing quality, that looks good and that other people can share.”

The Real Madrid forward also offered his own tips for styling the range.

He said: “The great thing about the CR7 Footwear collection is that there are lots of designs so they can suit lots of different smart looks. I wear the luxury styles, like the Oxford Brogue, with tailored trousers and a well fitted CR7 shirt. I love using colour and like designs that are vibrant so I’ve incorporated this into the Footwear range, especially with some navy and red designs.”
