Kelly Clarkson: Alcohol and prescription drugs are just as dangerous as the drug
OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Heartbeat Song’ hitmaker, who has eight-month-old daughter River Rose with husband Brandon Blackstock, claims alcohol and prescription drugs are just as dangerous as the drug.
Kelly Clarkson reportedly thinks marijuana should be legalised, as she says alcohol and controlled narcotic substances are just as dangerous.
She said: “I cannot understand the fact that controlled narcotic substances and alcohol are legal and weed isn’t. How many people do you know who have died from weed? My point exactly.”
The 32-year-old star previously admitted in 2007 that she’d had a marijuana cookie in Amsterdam, where it is legal, but insisted she’d never tried any harder drugs.
Kelly also admits she has “a concealed handgun licence.”
Meanwhile, the singer says she would love to carve out a career in Hollywood.
She told UsMagazine.com: “Ever since I was a kid, I have wanted to be the singing and talking voice for an animated film.”
But she doesn’t think she will ever be like her idol Meryl Streep.
She said: “Also while pregnant, I was extremely hormonal and miserable from vomiting. I apparently called my assistant crying, ‘I’ll never be Meryl Streep!’ I don’t remember this, but I don’t think my assistant could make that kind of ridiculous statement up.
“I want to be on Broadway. I fell in love with NYC when I recently spent two weeks there just for fun.”
