Kate Moss changed the modelling industry
OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Moss believes the modelling industry has changed a great deal since she began her career as she paved the way for unconventional beauties.
The 40-year-old supermodel believes her petite figure set her apart from the curvaceous and tall models who rose to prominence in the ’80s and ’90s and insists her unique look paved the way for unconventional beauty in the modelling world.
When asked how the industry has changed since she took on her first job aged just 16 in 1990, Kate said: “It’s more about a unique, interesting, individualistic look. You don’t need to be perfect or conventionally pretty anymore. I don’t know that I’m responsible for that but I think we really did change things when I started.”
Meanwhile, the fashion icon recently starred in a campaign for Burberry’s latest fragrance My Burberry alongside model of the moment Cara Delevingne.
Kate was impressed by the 22 year old’s confidence in front of the camera and revealed the pair had more important things to discuss than beauty tips on set.
She said: “Cara’s got it – she doesn’t need advice, she knows what she is doing, she’s very confident in front of the camera. She’s a great model. Cara doesn’t really wear much make up. She has a very natural look; she only really wears makeup when she’s at work. We talk about everything else but makeup!”
However, Kate always keeps an eye out for new products while working and recently discovered St.Tropez’s Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil which has helped her to achieve a healthy glow all year round.
She explained: “I often find new products on shoots – I recently discovered St.Tropez’s Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil, it gives my skin a subtle golden shimmer which looks great for a night out.
“Having a tan gives you a healthier glow; you just look healthier in general. You can get away with a late night with a tan – it covers up a multitude of sins and it also makes you look more defined.”
