Chloé teams up with Studio Voltaire

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloé has teamed up with art charity Studio Voltaire to create three unique pieces in celebration of their 20th anniversary.

The French fashion house has collaborated with the artistic charity on three items designed with the help of three artists to help celebrate their 20th anniversary.

Chloé have created a scarf with the help of Jenny Saville, a pair of shorts and matching top with Karen Kilimnik and a dress with Cao Fei, all of which will be sold in a pop up shop in London and online at Net-A-Porter.

Chloé’s creative director, Clare Waight Keller, told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I’ve known about Studio Voltaire since a really old friend of mine became involved in 2002, and I’ve been waiting for the right time to get involved.

“I chose women to work with – Jenny Saville, Karen Kilimnik and Cao Fei – who have a real sense of femininity in their work.”

Fei’s aesthetic was the most difficult to translate as she usually works with media including installation, theatre, film, photography and digital projects and therefore rather than designing a garment, she instead wrote a story that has been printed on a label inside the dress from the Chloé Resort collection.

She explained: “I wanted to bring the emotional, poetic and dramatic to this project.”

Studio Voltaire was founded in 1994 by 12 artists who set up in an abandoned tram shed in south west London. It has since become a charity that supports 45 contemporary artists in one studio in order to help them stage their first solo shows.
