Rita Ora deletes message after promotional fail
OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora has been left embarrassed after deleting a promotional effort to gain attention for the release of her new single. The singer promised to unveil a track if her tweet received 100,000 retweets, but the message was only reposted by 2000 fans.
Rita Ora has deleted a message urging fans to retweet her in return for her new single, after it was reposted just 2,000 times.
The ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ singer was left red-faced after asking her 3.94 million followers to retweet her 100,000 times in return for her latest track, as only a fraction of that figure reposted the message.
Taking to her Twitter account at 7.45am on Friday (31.10.14), she wrote: “Dropping my new song monday if this get 100,000 retweets (sic)”
However, after only a small number of people reposted the message, the 23-year-old star deleted the tweet, before retweeting a sympathetic message from a fan which was then also deleted.
The ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ actress – who is currently dating the 24-year-old son of designer Tommy Hilfiger, Ricky Hilfiger – has no time to dwell on the poor reception of her announcement, however, as she is currently filming for her first series as a coach on ‘The Voice UK’.
The awkward situation comes just a day after the blonde beauty slammed people on the social networking site for criticising the appearance of others.
On Thursday (30.10.14), she tweeted: “We all need to stop judging people just by the way they look. It actually disgusts me. This world is focusing on the wrong things.”
