Nicole Kidman not ready to work after dad’s death
OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman doesn’t feel ready to return to work so soon after her father’s death but is determined to push through because that’s what he would have wanted.
The 47-year-old actress was left devastated when her dad Dr. Anthony Kidman tragically died four weeks ago from an apparent heart attack and would ideally like to take time out from her career to deal with her grief.
Speaking to News Corp Australia about her father’s death, she said: “It’s been awful. I think we are all still navigating through huge loss and grief right now, my mum, my sister and I.
“It’s rough. It’s still too soon for me [to return to work], but I guess it’s going to feel like that for a long time.”
However, the star is determined to push on with promoting her latest movie ‘Before I Go to Sleep’ because that’s what Anthony would have wanted.
She explained: “You have just got to push on. My dad, in a weird way, would have … that’s always what he taught us, you just have to put one foot in front of the other. That’s part of it.”
Anthony, who comes from Australia, was laid to rest at St Francis Xavier Church in Lavender Bay, Sydney, where Nicole gave an emotional eulogy, in which she thanked her dad for being there at all times, including after her divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001.
Nicole’s husband Keith Urban and their daughters, Sunday, six, and Faith, three, were also at the funeral, but her adopted kids, Isabella, 21, and Conor, 19, with Tom did not attend the heartbreaking service.
