Norway’s Princess Ingrid starts first day at private school
OHMYGOSSIP — Norway’s Princess Ingrid started her first day of private school (19.08.14) after previously going to a public school for four years.
The 10-year-old royal was escorted to the gates of Oslo International School in Bekkestua by her proud parents Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, who also celebrated her 41st birthday yesterday, as well as her grandmother Marit Tjessem and brother Prince Sverre Magnus.
According to HELLO! magazine, Haakon and Mette-Marit are said to want Ingrid – who is second in line to the throne – to be among people from different countries to get her prepared for her royal role.
What’s more, another reason for the couple choosing the educational facility was because lessons are taught in English, which will also be useful for when Ingrid is a full-time royal.
The youngster was greeted at the school by her new head teacher Janecke Aarnæs before she headed in for an induction.
The principal told Norwegian Broadcasting: “When she goes in the door here, she’ll be a completely ordinary pupil, just like all the others.”
Ingrid previously attended a public school, as did her eight-year-old brother Sverre before he also left and started at a private educational establishment.
