Michael Schumacher stable — But still critically ill
OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Schumacher is on the mend. The Formula One star’s condition has been described as “stable” following his skiing accident in France.
Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm has said that there have been “no significant changes” to the star’s condition overnight, confirming that the Grenoble hospital has no plans to hold a further press conference today (January 1) unless the situation changes significantly.
Kehm added that Schumacher still remains critically ill.
The sportsman was left “fighting for his life” after suffering a severe head injury at a resort in the French Alps on Sunday.
Schumacher was said to be showing “slight improvement” following a second operation yesterda, though doctors emphasized that his state is still “sensitive” and that the “coming hours are crucial”.
Dr Jean-Francois Payen, who is part of the medical team caring for Schumacher, has previously stressed that the former F1 driver “wouldn’t be here now” had he not been wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
