Nicole Kidman to play The Silent Wife
OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman has signed on to star in a big screen adaptation of A.S.A. Harrison’s bestselling novel, ‘The Silent Wife’.
Nicole Kidman will star in ‘The Silent Wife’. The actress has been tipped to produce as well as taking on the lead role in the project, an adaptation of A.S.A. Harrison’s bestselling novel.
The book, which was published after the author’s untimely death, became a surprise hit this summer, with critics likening it to psychological thriller ‘Gone Girl’.
The plot centres around Jodi and Todd, an affluent couple who have been living together for 20 years in a comfortable routine of mutual expectations and companionship, despite Jodi knowing her partner is cheating on her. As the novel progresses, catastrophe strikes and their relationship slowly dissolves.
Kidman is set to produce with her Blossom Films company, which was also behind the 2010 drama ‘Rabbit Hole’ that earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination.
No writer or director is attached to the project yet, Deadline.com is reporting.
This is the second literary adaptation Kidman has signed on for in recent months. The 46-year-old redhead – who will next be seen in ‘The Railway Man’ – is also set to star in a big screen version of S. J. Watson’s bestseller ‘Before I Go To Sleep’ opposite Colin Firth.
She will play a woman with amnesia who wakes up every morning with no knowledge of her identity, only to be reassured by the man who claims to be her husband.
