Pippa Middleton says Strictly Come Dancing would be ‘fun’
OHMYGOSSIP — Pippa Middleton has admitted it would “fun” to be a contestant on ‘Strictly Come Daning’ after she caught the dancing bug learning flamenco ahead of her 30th birthday.
Pippa Middleton thinks competing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ would be “fun”.
The socialite – the sister of Prince William’s wife the Duchess of Cambridge, also known as Kate Middleton – has hinted she’s interested in appearing on the BBC ballroom show after learning how to flamenco dance for her 30th birthday celebrations last month.
After catching the dancing bug while learning the traditional Spanish routine, Pippa has started learning other dance styles just in case she does get the call to be on ‘Strictly’ and has joked she’s trying to master the iconic routine from ‘Dirty Dancing’ – which starred the late Patrick Swayze
Writing in her column for the Daily Telegraph newspaper, she revealed: “Learning the flamenco has inspired me – think ‘Dirty Dancing’. I’m working on the meringue, the cha-cha and of course the lift – Johnny and Baby style. Good practice in case I’m ever asked on ‘Strictly’ … Now that would be fun!”
However, Pippa admits she wasn’t a natural at flamenco dancing and she felt “awkward” during lessons with professional flamenco dance instructor Jesus Olmedo in August ahead of her big day on September 6.
During a diary entry on August 15 published in her column, she said: “Evening lesson at a Fulham studio. Do I really look like that? Why so awkward? Mirrors not so great after all. I hide behind Jesus, copying his footwork and soaring arm movements. After 45 minutes, I begin to get to grips with my Primera Sevillana. At home I download Lenta Con Cante onto my iPhone, and watch endless YouTube flamenco videos for visual inspiration.”
