Rachel Riley needs to show ‘ruder’ side on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Countdown’ host Rachel Riley has admitted she needs to lose her “inhibitions” to succeed on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, but doesn’t want to go too far and offended viewers.

The ‘Countdown’ host – whose professional partner is Pasha Kovalev – has admitted she needs to show her “ruder” side to prove herself on the show, but she is also conscious of not going too far.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’ve got to just throw myself in and turn off all my inhibitions.

“I’m a bit ruder than people might think – not impolite, just bad taste jokes – and I’ve got to find that for ‘Strictly’. But there’s a line to draw. “I’m representing ‘Countdown’ and we have children and retirees watching. You’ve got to portray the side of yourself that you’d show your parents and grandparents rather than your mates.”

The 27-year-old star is being reminded of her university days tonight (05.10.13) when she wears a costume leaving little to the imagination – something she hasn’t done since she was studying at Oxford.

She laughed: “Uni was fun. When I was made netball captain I had to do a three-legged race through Oxford. Wearing a bikini.

“It was night-time and freezing. But I think I had a beer jacket on that night … [Tonight’s] is a bandeau swimming costume with fringing going in one direction and I was like, what about the other side?”
