Little Mix: Our style is more mature
OHMYGOSSIP — ‘X Factor’ winners Little Mix claim their more sophisticated dress sense reflects their mature new sound. The girl band – who shot to fame after winning the ‘The X Factor’ in 2011 – believe their taste in clothes has become more grown-up since their debut and reflects the slicker sound on their upcoming second album.
Singer Jade Thirlwall explained to Yahoo! Lifestyle: “I just think we’re normal girls and we are progressing. Especially with the new album that we’re bringing out, it’s a bit more mature, a bit more R&B, a bit cooler, so it’s all sort of happening together really.”
The band have divided opinions with their bold, 90s inspired dress sense and crazy clashing prints, but aren’t fazed by negative comments because they’re just having fun experimenting with fashion.
Jesy Nelson said: “There’s so many things we’ve worn in the past that we look back on and think ‘I’d never wear that now!’
“We’re always trying out new things and changing it up a bit. It’s just fun, isn’t it? That’s what fashion’s about.
“To be honest, I don’t really care what people think about my clothes. If I like them then that’s all that matters to be honest. I don’t dress for other people, I dress for myself.”
