Emma Watson celebrates unique beauty
OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Watson thinks actresses should make the most of their natural beauty instead of conforming to a certain aesthetic. The ‘Harry Potter’ actress tries to avoid looking like a carbon copy of her Hollywood counterparts and admires chic French stars like Marion Cotillard because they let their natural beauty shine through.
She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “The funny thing about beauty is that you have to be careful you don’t end up looking like someone else, especially in the film industry. I’ve noticed that throughout people’s careers everyone gradually begins to look more and more alike.
“I admire French actresses because on the red carpet they look human – they aren’t blow-dried and made-up to the point of resembling robots – and they tend to look individual.
“That’s the best thing about beauty: you can experiment with lots of colours and effects to find what works for you.”
The 23-year-old star has picked up so many tips from make-up artists on film sets that she feels confident enough to do her own make-up for events, and her friends are constantly clamouring for her to give them makeovers.
Emma said: “I have always really loved make-up. I grew up around make-up artists – they were my surrogate mothers – so I have learnt a lot from them, such as the impact that lipstick can have.
“However, I usually save it for evenings. For daytime I like to wear a pink-tinted lip-balm such as Figs & Rouge’s Lemon Berry. It looks effortless. Wearing something tinted is much more glamorous than just putting on any old lip-balm.
“I’ve always enjoyed doing my own make-up, and I still often do it for events. I do my friends’ make-up a lot, too.”
