Cheryl Cole baffled by style icon status
OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl Cole doesn’t understand why people think she’s a style icon because she just feels like a normal clothes-obsessed girl.
Cheryl Cole can’t believe she’s a style icon. The Girls Aloud star loves being a source of fashion inspiration for women everywhere, but claims there is nothing unusual about her look and she is simply making the most of her pop star status.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Daybreak’, the singer said: “It’s crazy because I really don’t think of myself as a style icon. I love the fact that people are inspired and look at me for inspiration.
“But I just like clothes! I’m just like any other girl out there, I just love clothes and shoes and handbags and dressing up and experimenting. It’s just part of what I love to do – and its also part of my job.”
Cheryl, 29, is regularly voted one of the sexiest women in the world, and was reminded that her former ‘X Factor’ fellow judge Simon Cowell recently said she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen in the flesh.
The brunette – who was axed from the US version of the show by Simon in 2011 – laughed: “I’ll take that, he got some making up to do!”
Cheryl previously revealed her style had become bolder for her third solo album ‘A Million Lights’, allowing her to experiment with daring colours and patterns.
She said: “I have got braver on this album because I’ve gone for complete pattern clashes which goes against all the rules.
“Crazy colour and pattern and clashing which is something I have never done before, but I was ready for this album.”
