Justin Theroux for Dr. Strange role?
OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Theroux is allegedly being lined up to play the lead in Marvel studio’s upcoming comic book inspired flick.
Justin Theroux is rumoured to be starring in ‘Dr. Strange’. The actor is being lined up for the lead role of magician Stephen Strange in Marvel’s upcoming comic book adaptation.
Justin could additionally be involved in writing the screenplay, having successfully penned scripts for the likes of ‘Rock of Ages’, ‘Iron Man 2’ and ‘Tropic Thunder’.
It is not know whether any other actors are being auditioned for the role, although Seamus O’Grady is also thought to be a hot contender for the role.
Dr. Stephen Strange, a character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in the Sixties, is a neurosurgeon who loses control of his hands before being taught mystic arts in the Himalayas and transforming into “the mightiest magician in the cosmos”.
Kevin Feige, Marvel’s president of production, confirmed the studio is looking to adapt the superhero tale back in January.
He told MTV at the time: “‘Dr. Strange’, which I’ve been talking about for years, is definitely one of [the films in development]. He’s a great, original character, and he checks the box off this criteria that I have: he’s totally different from anything else we have, just like ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’.
“He’s totally different from anything we’ve done before, as is Ant-Man, which keeps us excited.”
Justin was most recently seen on the big screen opposite his real life fiancé Jennifer Aniston in 2012’s ‘Wanderlust’. He is currently working on the ‘Zoolander’ sequel script.
