Daniel Craig has attended an exclusive “dine and sleep” evening at Windsor Castle. The 45-year-old actor – who filmed a James Bond spoof with Queen Elizabeth for the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony – and his wife, Rachel Weisz, went to the dinner party hosted by the royal and the Duke of Edinburgh on Monday evening (08.04.13).
According to The Court Circular – the official record of engagements carried out by the monarch – a number of other stars were also in attendance at the event including Hollywood actor Tim Burton and his actress wife Helena Bonham Carter.
Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, also went to the castle for the party, which saw guests enjoy dinner and a look at items from the royal collection before staying overnight and departing after breakfast.
Earlier this month, the queen was described as the “most memorable Bond girl yet” in reference to the London 2012 skit alongside the 007 star, and she was presented with an honorary BAFTA award in recognition of a lifetime’s support of British film and television at a reception in Windsor Castle.
BAFTA chairman John Willis said: “More recently Her Majesty the Queen starred at the London Olympics as the most memorable Bond girl yet.
“I am delighted that this evening has given us the opportunity to give something back. I have the great honour to announce that we are to present Her Majesty with an honorary BAFTA today, in recognition of her outstanding patronage of the film and television industries.”
