OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Mendes is reportedly jealous of ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star Jessica Chastain’s success since landing the role, and is “obsessed” with reaching the same heights.

The 39-year-old actress has reportedly become “obsessed” since her new rival beat her to the starring role in ‘Zero Dark Thirty’, which was based on the real-life hunt for Osama Bin Laden.

Showbizspy.com were told: “Eva’s been almost obsessed with Jessica since she played the part of Maya in ‘Zero Dark Thirty’, a role Eva wanted for herself.”

It is said the ‘Place Beyond the Pines’ star has turned to boyfriend Ryan Gosling for support, and the actor is pushing his partner to strive for greater success.

The insider added: “I think he is very controlling and tells her he thinks she can do better.

“It is as if Eva lives to please Ryan and is desperate to impress him.”

It seems she is ready to step up her game and stop being “typecast”, particularly now she has apparently signed with agent Hylda Queally, whose clients also include Jessica.

The source speculated: “It’s no coincidence that she’s now with Hylda… aside from Jessica, Hylda looks after Cate Blanchett and Marion Cotillard, so she knows her stuff.

“Eva told Hylda to send her to whatever auditions Jessica attends. She’s tired of being typecast as the love interest and wants to be a leading lady.
