Prince Charles praises Camilla
OHMYGOSSIP — Britain’s Prince Charles has praised wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, for being so “down to earth” and hopes everyone sees how “special” his spouse of almost eight years is.
Britain’s Prince Charles has praised wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, for being so “down to earth”.
The future king – who married Camilla in 2005 – spoke candidly of how “special” his spouse is and wants the public to recognise her admirable qualities.
Speaking about the couple’s trip to Papua New Guinea last year, in a two-hour documentary about his mother, Queen Elizabeth, Charles said of Camilla: “She loved it, and I hope they found out just how special she is.
“And I think they very much responded to her just being jolly good and down to earth.”
On his wife’s first visit to the region, Charles can be seen looking on with pride as she meets local people and dignitaries.
The heir to the throne appeared throughout ‘Our Queen’, which was broadcast on ITV last night (17.03.13) and charted the 12 months of the monarch’s Diamond Jubilee year.
Camilla’s appearance on the programme shows how far she has come in winning over the British public after she was blamed for the breakdown of Charles’ marriage to the late Princess Diana.
Charles admitted to having an affair with Camilla while he was married to Diana and after the princess’ death in 1997, the pair kept a low-profile.
However, their engagement was announced in February 2005 and they married on April 9 that year.
