Kate Middleton made her own Christmas cards, according to Pippa

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Middleton used to make all of her Christmas cards! When she was younger, the British beauty — who’s expecting her first child with husband Prince William — and her family would create their cards own as well as being very involved with the decorations.

“When I was a child, my December weekends were spent making cards, decorating the tree, hanging the wreath and preparing brandy butter and peppermint creams,” said Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton.

“Bowls brimming with walnuts, shiny wrapped chocolates and piles of clementines would appear around the house. There was always a distinctive smell, too; pine and cinnamon and the heady scent of mulled wine and pomanders that merged into the festive basket.”

Pippa, 29, says she and her family still like to repeat their Christmas rituals as it brings back such great memories.

“No matter how much we may adapt other celebrations, come December we tend to repeat our own familiar customs year after year — and this is perhaps key to the magic of Christmas,” she said.

“Looking back, I don’t remember the presents I received, nor whether the sprouts were overcooked or the turkey dry. But what I do remember are all the small rituals.”

Meanwhile, Kate recently suffered a shocking collapse — just hours before her first public appearance since announcing her pregnancy.

“KATE COLLAPSED IN A CHAIR while she was getting ready for the evening,” said an insider.

“She was in so much distress that she could barely stand up. But she took a page out of the late Princess Diana’s playbook and soldiered on because she shares Di’s strong sense of duty.

“Kate would never do anything to endanger her baby, but when she says she’s going to do something, it’s important to her to carry it through.”

Kate, 30, was sporting a dark green floor-length Alexander McQueen gown as she presented trophies and posed for pictures at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards in London on Dec. 16. It was her first public event since she was hospitalized for three nights with acute morning sickness after revealing that she’s pregnant.

“It was particularly tough for Kate because William was in Wales working a shift for the Royal Air Force,” said the insider.

“He didn’t want her to go, but Kate insisted she’d be fine on her own. William knows that once Kate sets her mind to do something, nothing will stop her. He definitely sees a lot of his mother in her.”
