Miss Universe Ecuador 2012 Carolina Andrea Aguirre Perez

Carolina Andrea Aguirre Perez (born June 25, 1992) is a Model and an Ecuadorian beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Ecuador 2012 and will represent her country in the Miss Universe 2012 pageant. Born to an Ecuadorian father and an Argentinian mother. Aguirre speaks Spanish and English, she loves singing and dancing jazz, and she is currently a student of journalism at UEES.

Aguirre, who stands 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in) tall, competed as a representative of Guayas, one of 18 contestants in her country’s national beauty pageant, Miss Ecuador 2012, broadcast live on March 16, 2012 from La Libertad, where she obtained the Best Figure, Best Face and Most Popular on Facebook awards, and became the eventual winner of the title, gaining the right to represent Ecuador in Miss Universe 2012.

Miss Universe 2012, the 61st Miss Universe pageant, will be held in December 2012 in a venue to be announced by the Miss Universe Organization. Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes from Angola will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Miss Universe is an annual international beauty contest run by the Miss Universe Organization. The pageant is the most publicized beauty contest in the world with 600 million viewers. The contest was founded in 1952 by California clothing company Pacific Mills. The pageant became part of Kayser-Roth and then Gulf and Western Industries, before being acquired by Donald Trump in 1996. In 1998, Miss Universe changed its name from Miss Universe, Inc. to Miss Universe Organization and the headquarters moved from Long Beach California, to New York City that year. Donald Trump brought in a new team of professionals to the contest headed by its new CEO, Molly Miles, and president Maureen Reidy. The contest would use the slogan “Redefined for Today” for promotion of the pageants. The current Miss Universe is Leila Lopes, from Angola. She won the title on Sept 12, 2011.

The historic center of Cuenca, the third largest city in the country, was also declared a World Heritage Site in 1999, for being an outstanding example of a planned inland Spanish style colonial city in the Americas. Ecuador is also home to a great variety of species, many of them endemic, like those of the Galápagos islands. This species diversity makes Ecuador one of the 17 megadiverse countries in the world.The new constitution of 2008 is the first in the world to recognize legally enforceable Rights of Nature, or ecosystem rights.
 
Ecuador is a presidential republic and became independent in 1830, after having been part of the Spanish colonial empire, and for a much shorter time of the republic of Gran Colombia. It is a medium-income country with an HDI score of 0.720 (2011).
